This rural village garden had been landscaped and planted around 15 years ago; it was now tired and overgrown with bindweed and ivy.
Our brief was to rejuvenate the garden to provide a peaceful oasis for a busy consultant: we cleared the garden, restored the rotten pergola, added a raised bed to provide different planting levels, planted climbers, shrubs and herbaceous perennials, and finished off with fresh new turf after dealing with the rampant bindweed.

This small cottage garden lacked colour and variety and was slowly being swamped by ivy. We removed the unwanted undergrowth, carefully pruned the plants that could be saved to give them a new lease of life and replanted with plants suitable for the shady site to give year-round colour, structure and interest.

This city centre student house needed a low maintenance garden on a tight budget to provide its tenants with an attractive outdoor space.
A simple, contemporary design with evergreen planting made the most of the small courtyard space.

This large suburban house had recently been modernised and needed a contemporary garden to match; in particular, the client was keen to have artificial grass and a cohesive boundary to disguise the neighbouring garage and numerous different fences/walls.
A detailed design was landscaped by the client themselves followed by a planting plan and installation by Border Control, featuring some beautifully sculptural tree ferns and bamboo.

A keen gardener had moved into his brand-new modern house but was daunted as to where to start with the blank canvas that was his garden.
We worked very closely with the client to produce a design that would blend with the house as well as provide a suitable back drop for his chosen style of planting.
This was followed by a detailed planting plan incorporating the client’s choices as well as introducing him to many new ones. An added bonus was that the process and resulting garden has now converted the client’s wife into a gardener!
“What a super garden you have created for us! We are both delighted with the transformation and so impressed with you and your team - all so knowledgeable, hardworking and pleasant, it’s been a pleasure to have you all working for us.
I for one am just so grateful that I managed to persuade my husband NOT to attempt to do it himself as it’s been such a major project which you have executed superbly - from your designing, planning & sourcing appropriate plants & then your team’s hard labour of barrowing soil, positioning, planting…plus tidying up so well too -it’s been fantastic, Thank you!”
